I’ve been photographing families since 2012. I was a family photographer before becoming a wedding photographer, and have always kept my work separate online for fear of couples not wanting to see photos of babies or families not caring about wedding photos since those weren’t their current stages of life. I’m making the transition to change that this year, mostly to make my life easier, but also because I believe that weddings are just the beginning of the story. Not everyone chooses to have kids, (and its no less of a family if that’s your story), but because I want to honor and value all familial relationships whether it be a couple who are engaged or celebrating an anniversary or a family welcoming their first baby or sending kids off to college (and of course all the glorious mess in between). Having shot weddings for a long time now, many of my wedding clients are now starting to have children and its such an honor to be asked to continue to document important moments in their lives. I work hard to bring the level of artistry that goes into a wedding day to a family session at home. Your every day experience is just as beautiful as an iconic event and I don’t want you to miss that.
With that said, I’ll be sharing a mixture of stories here from now on and I’m so glad you’re taking the time to look at them. First up will be a session I did last year with some long-time clients at their home. I started photographing the DeLucas when their oldest, Eleanor, was born and its been amazing to get to watch her grow and become a big sister. Can’t wait for our next session and see how much little Camp has grown this time around!
