I've been photographing Jax since he was just 6 months old—its one of my favorite things to capture photos of a family over the years as kids grow. This kid always has a smile for me and those blue eyes kill me every time.
There is a sacred sort of peace in a home with a couple's first-born baby. The pace of life has slowed and its focus narrowed for a precious time on the newest family member. Baby Eleanor is so clearly loved and cherished by her parents; it was an honor to photograph them together in their home.
Taking photographs of Molly just a few weeks before the birth of her first son was a pretty magical experience. The joy of expecting a new baby is written all over these images. One of the most beautiful things on earth.
Butter Design Lab is the labor of love of Laura Berryman, a SCAD graduate who believes the things you live with should inspire you and make you happy. She's dedicated to using sustainable materials and makes each of her items by hand, and even hand-paints her song lyric pillows. We had a great time collaborating on this product shoot for her latest collection, something that brings two of my great loves together—branding and photography.
A pre-Christmas shoot at home for these brothers meant rolling around in the backyard and climbing over stacks of firewood, with discussions of chainsaws and bulldozers. I would really expect nothing less.
Matt and Charissa had been told they had a 0% chance of conceiving a baby on their own. They had always talked about adopting some day, so though they were saddened by the news, they had faith that they would have a family. Just a few months later they were both shocked and overjoyed when they realized that she was pregnant. This baby, so prayed for and longed for, was a miracle in every sense of the word. To celebrate God's mercy and love we documented the rest of Charissa's pregnancy with a mini-session each month until baby Varian arrived. What a pleasure it was to see the fulfillment of so many prayers!
A laid-back, creative 4th birthday party at one of my favorite local workshops, Oil and Cotton. I love it when my job connects me with people who love the same places I do.
My favorite family sessions are those that show the personalities and joy of each individual while they spend time together. I joined this sweet family of four for a casual dinner at one of my favorite spots in Dallas and witnessed sisters giggling, and Mom and Dad enjoying their little girls without distraction. And these little cowgirls just fit in so well with their surroundings! They even hopped on stage and entertained the other patrons with some two-steppin'.
Less than two weeks old, and Adler didn't want to miss a moment of the day. It wasn't until I was picking up my bags to head out the door that he finally fell asleep in his father's arms and I was able to catch a few photos of this newborn with his eyes closed.
Bethany's end of year party for her clients was held at the beautiful Kate Spade store at Northpark in Dallas. It was an evening of fashion eye candy and sparkles everywhere!
